A recently leaked startegy memo from the Heartland Institute, a climate denier organization, has been making the rounds lately. Climate change advocates have been using it to show that the opposition to climate research is political, and in no way based in science. On Monday I called it climate-denier gate.
Well today, Robert Rapier has an interesting article on the topic, and he discusses the idea that the memo is fake, written by a climate scientist to discredit the opposition.
Its climate-denier-gate gate!
I don’t know if this is true or not, but if it is, I agree that the scienctific community needs to forcefully state its opposition to things like this. Climate deniers’ main charge against climate scientists is that they just make things up for political gain.
Let’s not prove them right.
