Get ready for some fireworks:
Said an adviser: “Romney has said Obama’s a nice fellow, he’s just in over his head. But I think the governor himself believes this latest round of attacks that have impugned his integrity and accused him of being a felon go so far beyond that pale that he’s really disappointed. He believes it’s time to vet the president. He really hasn’t been vetted; McCain didn’t do it.”
Really? Calling the president un-american, saying he hates his country, is a kenyan anti-colonialist, a terrorist, questioning his place of birth, comparing his wife to a gorilla, that’s all fine, but correctly pointing out inconsistency between two sworn, under penalty of perjury, statements by Mitt Romney is a beyond the pale personal assault?
As to the idea that he “hasnt been vetted”, well, Hillary Clinton threw the “kitchen sink” at him, we’ve spent a ton of time on his former pastor and his place of birth, he won a national election and since then congress has investigated every single thing they could get their hands on. How much more vetting do you want?
For supposedly being the party of manly men (as opposed to those damn hippy liberals) that’s tough on crime, tough on terror, and loves guns and the military, republicans are really thin skinned.
Oh and by the way, I seem to recall that there are a couple problems in our country? Perhaps the candidates would like to discuss their proposed solutions? Anyone? Bueller?
