In Pennsylvania, a judge upheld the entirely unnecessary and blatantly anti-democratic voter ID law that seeks to make it very difficult for some likely democratic voters to vote.
In Ohio, republican heavy counties will be able to vote early and during non-business hours. In democratic leaning counties, early voting is significantly curtailed and can only be done during business hours.
In both cases, the affected voters can still vote, if they really want to, its possible. But of course people could pay poll taxes too, if they really wanted to. It’s possible!
But that’s not the point.
Effectively disenfranchising old people, poor people, and working people is important to safeguard democracy. Allowing those people to have healthcare is an assault on freedom. Can you feel the freedom?
