If you don’t follow the philly news, you missed this. But here in the city of brotherly yelling at each other, its a big story.
Apparently, a girl wore a Romney shirt to her highschool last week. The teacher made fun of her. When her parents rightly went to the school to complain, they were shouted down by other students. Apparently, a very pro-Obama school. Since then, a huge amount of people who weren’t involved have gotten into things and there have been protests and counter protests and so on.
So everyone: just stop. The teacher was wrong and so were the students that shouted down the girls parents. Let it end there. Those folks already made themselves look dumb in the press. But now everyone looks dumb. This girl had every right to wear her Romney shirt and the other students had every right to disagree with her choice but not to try to intimidate her or her parents. But now everyone is just dragging themselves down. It’s ridiculous, and we’ve been hearing about it for days, rather than talking about actual things.
So just stop. Be reasonable.
