Tagged as terrorism? Interesting…
Anyway, yes, if criminal activity is alleged, criminal prosecution should follow. Corporations are just collections of people; they have a right to free speech, as well as a right to equal protection/prosecution under the law. If there are just a few lowly people involved, prosecute them. If the responsibility goes up the chain, prosecution should continue.
The government is concerned about punishing HSBC too harshly, not wanting to affect those innocents employed by them who didn’t do anything, not wanting to lose American jobs. The government isn’t ever concerned about sending the head of a household to jail because his/her innocent family didn’t do anything wrong.
The “terrorism” tag was because of the allegations of connection to terrorist activities, and Greenwalds discussion thereof, not a back handed way of calling bankers terrorists.
In my opinion the biggest failure of the Obama administration has been a reluctance to hold people accountable for things.
