Guns Are People Too, My Friend

Shorter NRA:

Gun owners should be able to do as they please with their guns! Except destroy them. That’s unacceptable!

Because, you see, the NRA is about freedom. Unless that freedom involves destroying their idol the firearm. 

As Josh Marshall puts it:

In other words, the guns — not the people who have a right to own them — but the guns themselves, i.e., the metal and miscellaneous composites that make up the firearm, now have rights.
